Scriptures and Saints on Mercy

Free Catholic Mobile APP of the Society of the Infant Jesus

In celebration of the recent Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Society of the Infant Jesus (Singapore) has developed a totally free Catholic Mobile APP named GAUDETE.

In the Gaudete APP, we have devoted a special section on Mercy Quotes from Scriptures and the Saints. We spent the entire Jubilee Year of Mercy to research and compile 366 quotations on Mercy drawn from the following sources:

  • + 14 Books of the Old Testament
  • + 11 Books/Letters of the New Testament
  • + Mercy Messages from Apparitions of Jesus, Mary and Angels
  • + 8 Pope Saints
  • + 141 Saints
  • + 18 Blesseds

A detailed breakdown of the above sources is provided below.

Some Points of Interest of the Mercy Resource in the Gaudete APP:

  • + The 366 Mercy Quotes have been allocated to each day of the 366 days of the year (including 29 Feb for Leap Years) to serve as a daily reflection on ‘Mercy’ and to inspire one to carry out works of mercy.

  • + If the Saint of the day has said or written something about Mercy, his/her Mercy quote will be allocated to his/her feast day.

  • + If Biblical Mercy quotes relate to particular Feast Days, they will also be allocated to the respective Feast days (e.g., Luke 1:39-56 has been allocated to 31 May which is the Feast of the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth).

  • + All the 366 Mercy Quotes contain the word ‘Mercy’ and/or ‘Merciful’ and they speak to various facets and aspects of Mercy.

  • + A daily Push Message is sent out to the Gaudete APP users to draw their attention to the Mercy Quote of the day.

The Mercy Resource and all the content of the Gaudete APP are totally free and available for both Apple & Android Mobile Devices. In addition to the Mercy resources, the APP also contains a wealth of Catholic Spirituality Resources. For more details on the content in the Gaudete APP, go to:
