2b. Love in Way of Perfection – By Rev. Fr. Perianayagam Arumaiselvam OCD (Tamilnadu Province, South India)
St. Teresa’s Way of Perfection is considered as the Teresian Gospel of Love. In a motherly way she teaches her daughters the way of love. it’s a beautiful book on Christian understanding of love of God and neighbour. It’s a beautiful blending of the human and the divine.
Teresa focuses her teaching on JESUS, THE FRIEND, who is the friend of all good order. It is in loving Jesus that we get all other attitudes of love in the community and family too.
A Christian or religious lives ultimately for the community/family and Church; and one has to grow in fraternal love which is pure and sincere, keeping always Jesus before the eyes.
St. Teresa had gone through the vicissitudes of adolescent period and now as a mature mother she teaches her daughters the way of true Christina love, that is in tune with one’s life destiny.
